Sample of Content From Walking Daily Through The Word

Please note: This is an excerpt of the type of study lessons you will find in Walking Daily Through The Word. It does not include everything from each lesson and does not reflect the exact page layout of the book.
----------------------------------------------------------

Lesson 1 - Scripture reading: Gen. 1:1-3:24
Dates: Approximately 4004 B.C. based on genealogical study
Things to consider:

1. In this very first chapter of the Bible we see evidence of the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity. We see God (v. 1) and the Spirit (v. 2). God also says, “Let us make…” (v. 26)
New Testament correlation: Col. 1:15 and John 1:1-4 tell us that Jesus was present as well. Jesus is called the Word and it was through the word that all things were made.

2. Using a Bible map and the locations mentioned in 2:10-14 locate the general area of the Garden of Eden then use a current globe to show the modern location.

3. Note the location of Adam while Satan was tempting Eve (v. 6). Many people assume that Eve was alone but what does the scripture say?

4. Notice the curse put on Satan in 3:14-15.
New Testament correlation: We see the fulfillment of this in Christ’s victory on the cross. Read 1 John 3:8, Gal. 4:4 and Heb. 2:14.

5. In 3:21 we see the first animal sacrifice for sin. Throughout the rest of scripture we will see that only a blood sacrifice can atone for sin. See Heb. 9:22.

Lesson 2 - Scripture Reading: Gen. 4:1-5:32, 1 Chron. 1:1-4, Gen. 6: 1-22
Dates: Approximately 4004-2347 B.C.
Things to consider:

1. Note the mercy offered to Cain by God in 4:6-7.

2. Remember that the story in Genesis does not give us every detail of history but only the highlights of what happened. Therefore we must realize that Cain and Abel were not the only children of Adam and Eve. Adam lived 930 years and his command was to be fruitful and multiply. Therefore when we get to 4:17 we can safely assume that Cain’s wife was either his sister or niece. There was no law against this type of marriage for many hundreds of years.
3. Modern day “science” wants us to believe that man slowly evolved over millions of years and that early man was extremely primitive and unintelligent. Yet the Bible tells us that God created man with just a word and that man was created with God......

What Makes "Walking Daily" Different?

What makes "Walking Daily Through the Word" different from other Bible studies or Bible Curriculum?
  1. Walking Daily Through the Word does not skip any portion of the scriptures. Instead it goes through every chapter and verse, in chronological order, giving the reader a full view of the scripture and God's overarching plan of redemption.
  2. While many studies are topical in nature, Walking Daily Through the Word is focused on studying God's word as a whole, focusing on what God's word teaches us about God.
  3. Many studies focus heavily on application without first giving a firm foundation of the context of the scriptures used. Walking Daily Through the Word gives the reader a firm foundation of the historical and literary context of the scriptures being read.
  4. The goal of Walking Daily Through the Word is to encourage a love for the whole of God's word. This is accomplished by constant cross-referencing between the Old and New Testaments. This allows the reader to see God's plan in action flowing through the whole Bible.
  5. Because of the chronological nature of this study, a better correlation between the biblical history and the rest of world history is easily made. Especially in volumes 2 and 3, historical notes are given to give the reader a better grasp of the time frame of Biblical events.

Reader Testimonials

"I have often set out to read the Bible through and after starting at Genesis, I would tend to get bogged down a few books later. If you are one that is frustrated by having always wanted to read the Old Testament and know the history that occurred, while at the same time seeing God in His sovereignty, foreshadowing the coming of Jesus, then this easy to follow book is a great tool. It can be an exciting read for a busy parent with several children while at the same time being a great resource for a seasoned Christian wanting to dig deep for personal or group Bible studies. The back each page is left blank for you to take notes on as you study." -- J. D., Missouri

"Our family has really enjoyed studying the Scriptures chronologically using Walking Daily Through the Word. It definitely helps with understanding when you comprehensively look at Scripture in that manner. It's helpful to have the approximate dates at the beginning of each day's study. The study includes a section in each day titled "Things to consider" which is extremely informative, challenging, and makes you think about the Scripture more in-depth. We would highly recommend it to any person or family who wishes to learn more about the Bible and understand it on a deeper level. It's worth every penny!" -- H.G., Missouri
